The connecter weighs just 25g and measures a bit bigger than an AA battery (6.8cm x 2.5cm)

The FR Vincitore safety connector is rated to the weight of the rider and must not be used outside the stated weight class:

Connector 1 Connector 2 Connector 3
Rider weight 12 – 30kg 30 – 50kg 50 – 80kg

We strongly recommend choosing the correct set of FR Vincitore for your weight. If you don’t use the right set, the effectiveness of the quick-release safety system will be compromised and we can’t guarantee they will separate at the right time in an emergency.

No, the connector is only 25g and so the connector doesn’t bang.

No you don’t need special tools – it’s actually really easy to put your reins back together. The safety connector can be reassembled by removing the retaining ring, pushing the ball back into the socket and retightening the ring. An adult should reassemble the connector. Then you’re ready to ride again! Make sure you replace the retaining ring if your reins separate with force up to three times.

If your FR Vincitore have separated, the safety connector can be reassembled by removing the retaining ring, pushing the ball back into the socket and retightening the ring. An adult should reassemble the connector. Once your reins have separated after abnormal load, the properties of the retaining ring are slightly reduced. The same retaining ring should NEVER be reused more than three times.

Rather than reassemble using the original parts, we recommend you purchase our ‘FR Vincitore Service Kit’ of new retaining rings, which enable you to ‘reset‘ your FR Vincitore yourself at home. If the reins themselves are damaged we would recommend buying a new set of FR Vincitore.

No, if the reins separate under force up to three times, you do NOT need to replace the whole set of reins. Instead, you can buy and replace the individual retaining ring in our Service Kit.

The reins can separate up to three times – you will then need to replace the individual retaining ring on your FR Vincitore. You can do this by purchasing the FR Vincitore Service Kit.

Yes! The rein is attached to the bit with a regular stainless-steel buckle, and the leather part of the reins are like normal too. The only difference with the reins is the small safety connector which separates your reins under abnormal pressure.

Yes, you can use FR Vincitore in British Showjumping (BS), British Eventing (BE), Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) and all unaffiliated competitions. We are working with other governing bodies to get FR Vincitore on their ‘approved tack’ lists for affiliated competitions as soon as we can!

The rein is attached to the bit with a buckle in stainless steel.

The reins are available in havana and black, the connector is available in chrome and gold. Have a look at the product page FR Vincitore Safety Rein.

The reins are leather bio-reins, so the grip is rubber with a synthetic core. Find out more at the product page FR Vincitore Safety Rein.

Yes. Your FR Vincitore are covered by a 12 month warranty, valid from the date of purchase, against defects in materials and manufacturing. The warranty does not cover defects due to wear (e.g. rubber grip, leather degradation), third party changes, improper storage or maintenance, or use other than that for which the device was designed. All FR Vincitore products are tested and checked carefully.

In the unlikely event you need to claim, please contact us at info@frvincitore.co.uk with the purchase date, order number and nature of the problem, and we will respond speedily to resolve your issue.

Care and Maintenance

  • Your FR Vincitore should be stored away from direct sunlight and cleaned after each use
  • The safety connector should be kept clean, dry and free from dirt as anything lodged in the safety mechanism could prevent the release system from working properly
  • Use of normal leather cleaning products on the leather reins

We supply a User Manual with all our FR Vincitore products.

No, you should not tie your horse up with the FR Vincitore.

The connector and reins are constructed by hand together by our bridle-maker, so come as one unit and cannot be purchased separately. If you need a longer or shorter rein you can buy Pony, Cob of Full length FR Vincitore. Make sure you select the right safety connector for your weight.

Our reins are handmade to order in the UK, and your delivery date will depend on what you order. There are 36 variations of our reins! If we have your specific reins in stock, we can deliver Next Day. However if our bridle-maker needs to construct them from scratch, your reins may take up to 14 working days. We will tell you this during the checkout process. You can also contact us anytime at info@frvincitore.co.uk.
