We bumped into @this_esme at Spoga Horse in Germany earlier this year, and we got chatting about our reins. This year, marking Earth Day is more important than ever. 🌍

The rainfall we’ve had this spring could be a sign of our shifting climate, as warming temperatures trigger more extreme weather. As equestrians, the weather impacts more than our days out competing - it makes it so hard for farmers to grow the crops we need when one year we’re in drought and the next seeds are drowning in mud. It makes turnout so hard which impacts our horse’s wellbeing, and it’s tough on the people caring for horses too.

So, this Earth Day we’re thinking of ways we can make our business as sustainable as possible. We’d love to hear your ideas, if you’d like to pop them in the comments.

Why were our safety reins invented? It was after a truly terrifying tumble for a little one…

Our founder Laurie witnessed a fall where a young rider got her reins tangled around her throat as she fell, and they didn’t break. Thankfully, she was freed with some burns from the reins but no lasting damage, however it set in motion Laurie’s determination to develop quick-release reins. We’re proud that we now sell a unique, fully tested quick release rein system for riders of all ages. Have you taken a closer look yet?
